Demand for ‘High Quality’ Student Property on the Rise

Dan Salkeld, Associate Director at Goadsby Winchester, reports a rise in the demand for ‘High End’ student property. Having overseen another successful student season the team at Goadsby noticed a pattern occurring;   the same couple of properties generating all the interest leaving a lot of disappointed students settling for their 2^nd and 3^rd choice properties.   The properties catching the eye of the tenants broke the mould of basic, second hand or dated furniture and were finished to a tasteful modern standard throughout. These properties let for an average of £20 more per person, per week. Bearing in mind the majority of student houses in Winchester are 3 or more bedrooms the additional income per person equates to £1000’s additional income each year.
