Bridport Regeneration Site Approved

Bridport Regeneration Site Approved

3 January 2025
Bridport Regeneration Site Approved Acting on behalf of Hayward & Co., Goadsby has obtained planning permission for the mixed-use re-development of the St. Michael’s Trading Estate at Bridport. The approved scheme, which at times has proven to be controversial, will see the construction of 92 houses and flats, the refurbishment of many of the existing commercial buildings, together with the development of office and light industrial units.

Goadsby Director of Planning, Peter Atfield, comments that:

This is a sensitive site, containing a listed building, set within a conservation area, and alongside the River Brit. As such the proposals required a traditional and sympathetic design, introducing new development into an historic estate that has considerable charm and character. The scheme should help St. Michael’s to regenerate, creating new job opportunities and much needed housing, including affordable housing.

The design is by Furgeson Mann Architects of Bristol.
