In 2022 Goadsby Commercial sold 17 Green Lane, Fordingbridge on behalf of a private client.
The premises have now officially opened their doors as a new Chevrons Living Fordingbridge retirement community, created with special appeal to veterans and ex-emergency service staff.
Built and designed for active seniors and of particular interest to those who served, Chevrons welcomed prospective residents and the wider Fordingbridge community to view its attractive living quarters and grounds at its official launch event on 21st October 2023.
Mayor of Fordingbridge, Councillor Peter White, did the honours of officiating proceedings in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and he was joined by Sir Desmond Swayne, MP for the Constituency of New Forest West, alongside Chevrons Livings CEO, Barry Robbins and Manager Tony Harvey.
Councillor Peter said, “Chevrons is an incredibly high quality facility for active seniors. The rooms are beautifully designed and the whole set up has a great atmosphere. The ability to be able to live independently, within a community environment is really special and the Elizabeth Bar must be seen to be believed”.
CEO Barry Robbins, who is part of the team that decided to launch Chevrons Living said, “Chevrons Living is a true community-focused venture, and was created with our wonderful veterans and ex-emergency services staff in mind. It is a place where people can come and enjoy our beautiful town while retaining a sense of independence and camaraderie that they may have lost over the years”.

All of the accommodation is en-suite and come fully fitted with kitchens or kitchenettes. There are also beautifully landscaped community gardens with a barbecue and patio area. I thoroughly enjoyed the opening event and have no doubt that the ten beautifully designed studios will soon be fully occupied with happy residents”.
