From Little Acorns Do Oak Trees Grow

16 June 2023
From Little Acorns Do Oak Trees Grow Acting on behalf of the freehold owners, Goadsby has obtained resolutions to grant planning permission and listed building consent from Dorset Council for the mixed-use development and re-development of the St. Michael’s Trading Estate, Bridport.

First established 55 years ago, the estate was revolutionary at the time in offering small office suites and factory workspace to allow local companies to start up businesses and grow larger on the same site. Many of these ‘seedbed’ industries went on to thrive. However, the estate buildings have aged, and are now in much need of major refurbishment to continue the St. Michael’s legacy.

The permissions will allow 92 houses and flats to be developed alongside the refurbished and new commercial floorspace. Potentially, 100 new jobs will be established on the site: “A forest of oaks from the seeds of acorns”.
