These properties are truly architectural
Upon entering this beautiful 2 bedroom home you are immediately greeted with a feeling of space and grandeur with high ceilings and well-proportioned rooms.
The living/dining room enjoys high ceilings with three front aspect sash windows and a feature fire surround. An opening leads into the kitchen, with two rear aspect sash windows and a door leading out to the rear garden. The fully fitted kitchen includes a range of wall and base units with Quartz worktops and integrated appliances including eye level double oven, induction hob with extractor fan above, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The ground floor benefits from a cloakroom and utility area.
Both the bedrooms on the first floor are sizeable double rooms. The bathroom is beautifully finished with marble effect tiling and this is continued within the en-suite shower room. The property has been sympathetically decorated in heritage colours to compliment the history of the building.
Externally the rear courtyard gardens provide a private outside space (with rear access) and have been designed for ease of maintenance. The front of the houses are tastefully planted and have a patio area, enclosed by low brick wall and railings. All the properties have allocated parking spaces to the front of the property.
Dorchester Town, Brewery Square and Poundbury boasts a wide and varied array of shops and eateries. There are many amenities and attractions in the local area including Maiden Castle, Cerne Abbas, the Tolpuddle Martyes Museum and Abbotsbury Swannery. The world renowned Jurassic Coast is only 9 miles away and closer to home there are numerous local walks taking in some of the local history with the Roman House and Borough Gardens close by.
The Keep was originally the gatehouse for the Depot Barracks of the Dorsetshire Regiment as well as the County Armoury. It was completed in 1879, in time for the amalgamation of 39th and 54th Regiments of Foot, who became the 1st and 2nd Battalions of The Dorsetshire Regiment in 1881. The Depot Barracks were the administrative centre for the Dorsetshire Regiment and its centre for recruitment and training. The Depot carried out this function between 1879 and 1958 with only one break. This was during World War Two when the barracks was used by the 701st Ordnance Light Maintenance Company and the 1st Quartermaster Company of the American Armed Forces. Today the Keep Military Museum is a striking landmark in the heart of Dorchester. Completed in 1879, it was designed to resemble a Norman Castle, and is built of Portland stone which gives it a white appearance.
