First Micro-Pub For Ringwood

Updated: June 25, 2018

Acting on behalf of The Cocky Pub Company, Goadsby Planning & Environment has obtained planning permission for the change of use of the former Swinton Insurance office at Christchurch Road, Ringwood, to a micro-pub. This will be the first micro-pub to be established in the town, offering an alternative environment to conventional hostelries. According to the Micropub Association they are defined as:

“A small freehouse which listens to its customers, mainly serves cask ales, promotes conversation, shuns all forms of electronic entertainment, and dabbles in traditional pub snacks.”

The first micro-pub opened in Kent in 2005. There are now over 300 in Britain.
