Demand for ‘High Quality’ Student Property on the Rise

Dan Salkeld, Associate Director at Goadsby Winchester, reports a rise in the demand for ‘High End’ student property. Having overseen another successful student season the team at Goadsby noticed a pattern occurring;   the same couple of properties generating all the interest leaving a lot of disappointed students settling for their 2nd and 3rd choice properties.   The properties catching the eye of the tenants broke the mould of basic, second hand or dated furniture and were finished to a tasteful modern standard throughout. These properties let for an average of £20 more per person, per week. Bearing in mind the majority of student houses in Winchester are 3 or more bedrooms the additional income per person equates to £1000’s additional income each year.
