Further Planning Approval For Former Odeon Cinema Westover Road

20 July 2021
Further Planning Approval For Former Odeon Cinema Westover Road Acting on behalf of Libra Homes, Goadsby has obtained planning permission for the phased re-development of the former Odeon Cinema site in Westover Road, Bournemouth. Having obtained consent in May 2020, the original permission contained conditions restricting the timescale for the commencement of construction until such time as BCP Council provided additional public open space within the former Borough of Bournemouth. The new consent allows the construction to be phased, meaning that the commercial space and 49 of the 64 flats can be built straight away.

Commenting on the approval, Goadsby Planning Director Peter Atfield states:

“The proposed mixed use development, designed by ARC Architects, will hopefully pave the way for the future regeneration of Westover Road. New commercial facilities and the additional foot fall from new residents will give a much needed boost to the local economy and help in re-shaping the centre of Bournemouth.”
