Are you ready for the new Electrical Safety regulations ?

The Government introduced new Electrical Safety Standards Regulations on 1st June 2020.

Landlords have to provide a copy of an electrical safety report to a NEW tenant before they occupy the premises and to their local authority if requested.

From 1st April 2021, this will apply to ALL existing tenancies.

The regulations require Landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at least every 5 years.

The national standards which need to be met are set out in the 18th edition of the ‘Wiring Regulations’ which are published as British Standard 7671.
