how we support
Through company events and individual fundraising efforts our staff are encouraged to raise money for these excellent causes. Below are just some examples of fundraising carried out by our fantastic staff.
BLANDFORD OFFICE CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
Fiona Forsyth, Hayley Harris, Rebecca Rogers and Chloe Clinch at our Blandford office organised a raffle at Christmas 2021 with prizes donated from local Blandford businesses. Tickets were sold from the office with the winners drawn by local councillor Peter Clark and the total of £505 raised was donated to Dorset Cancer Care and Margaret Green Animal Rescue.
HEAD OFFICE TUCK SHOP
Beginning in 2017 Lizzie Newton from our Accounts Department has run a Tuck Shop at our Bournemouth Head Office (with occasional assistance from daughters Amalie and Matilda!). In total to date, the Tuck Shop has raised over £1,500 which has been split between our three charities.
SOUTHAMPTON TO PARIS
24 HOUR CYCLE RIDE
Gavin Harris and David Hardwick from our Wareham and Wimborne Residential offices completed a 24hr cycle ride commencing at our Park Gate office and ending at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in September 2018. The journey was a total of 250 miles and the pair raised an impressive £4,815 for Dorset Cancer Care.
60KM FOR 60 YEARS OF GOADSBY
Emma Warner, Gemma Underwood and Maria Smith from our Ferndown office completed a 60km walk in October 2018 to celebrate our 60th year as a company with all proceeds going to Wessex Heartbeat. Beginning at our Swanage office the team walked between 10 Goadsby offices finishing at our Ringwood office on day 2 with a total of £1,731 raised.
2015 LONDON MARATHON
Mark Dryhurst from our Southampton Residential office raised £2,636 for Wessex Heartbeat after completing the 2015 London Marathon in 3hrs and 36mins - a personal best time.
LE TOUR DE GOADSBY
Four members of staff from our Bournemouth, Wareham and Wimborne Residential offices successfully completed a mammoth 200 mile charity bike ride across three counties in summer 2015. Completed over two days the team visited several Goadsby offices along the way. Gavin Harris, David Hardwick, Chris Snell and Jon Winson endured an eventful journey and raised over £2,700.
BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL
TRIATHLON
Three members of staff from our Bournemouth Residential office successfully completed the Bournemouth International Triathlon in summer 2014. Gavin Harris, Oliver Hampton and Bo Salbol endured a choppy 750m sea swim, a windy 20 kilometre bike ride and finished with a 5 kilometre run between the two piers.
Charity Quiz Night
First held in March 2014, our yearly Charity Quiz Night has swiftly become the most popular event in our staff calendar. With money raised via team entry fees, a raffle on the night, purchase of additional holiday days and a holiday auction, the proceeds are split between our three chosen charities. As we were unable to run this event in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2022's event was supported with renewed enthusiasm by our staff with a total of £4,241 being raised.
