Mark at Goadsby in Weymouth was a delight. Always cheery and helpful. Kept us up to date and always phoned back if not immediately available. We would definitely use Goadsy to buy/sell again. All staff at Wey Office very efficient. Thank you Goadsbys.

Very pleased with the overall service from Goadsbys. I was keen to sell before the Budget at the end of October and was impressed with the work done by Gareth and in particular Mark in the Weymouth sales department to make certain the deadline was met. Mark liaised with the solicitors and buyers to ensure everything went smoothly and he was very understanding, patient and reassuring throughout the process. From my experience, I would definitely Goadsbys Weymouth to handle the sale of a property.

When I signed with yourselves to sell my house, I informed everyone that i wanted the property sold before the October budget as I faced a potentially large CGT bill. After initially signing, it took two weeks to actually advertise my property. Nonetheless you did find a buyer though unfortunately they pulled out. Luckily you found another, this is where things started going wrong. I reduced the asking price by £5k on condition the whole deal was completed within 10 weeks in order to beat the budget. Sadly no attempts were made to meet my deadline, in frustration I had to intervene in October to point this out. The potential buyers were given the run of my house for ‘measuring up’ purposes while i was in cornwall on holiday, even though they hadnt signed any contracts. All you seemed be interested in doing was getting me to agree to the buyers demands, ie service the boiler, replace windows, sign a contract to have a shed in my garden before contracts signed, wasting weeks of time when if they had done a proper survey everything would have been dealt with in one go. Then I was told about five days before the initial. Exchange proposed date that the buyers buyer had pulled out, but another buyer had been found. What on earth were you doing, utterly implausible that this wasnt known about earlier, leaving me no time whatsoever to find alternative buyers myself before the budget. With time going by, i emailed Gareth to inform him that I would be terminating my agreement with you after the 16 weeks, plus the 3 weeks cooling off period, ending on the 14th November, to this day that email was never acknowledged.. The budget deadline came and went without any recognition and the property was completed on the 15th November. But the process of finding exchange/completion dates was a shambles, failing to find out when buyers monies would be in place or taking into account their abilities to find removal firms for these dates. i hope you learn some lessons from this debacle
Reply left 18 Nov 2024: Hi Barry, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear about your experience. I believe the delay in the commencement of marketing your property was due to a discrepancy over your council tax rate, your bill showing different to the government website initially. The team attempted to meet the agreed timescale of 10 weeks from start to finish, however the delays we experienced were at the bottom of the chain, not with the transaction on your sale. The delay in exchange was further hindered due to a purchaser at the bottom of the chain having a lifetime Isa which took time for them to release. Your buyers only visited your property twice, both times accompanied by us. As you can see none of the delays were due to issues with us but if our communication could have been better to you we apologise for this. The email you sent to the office was responded to by Gareth on the same day. Kind regards and best wishes.
Goadsby were estate agent to our vendors. Our experience, whether over the phone or in person, was wholly satisfactory. Mark looked after us throughout and I would heartily recommend the Goadsby team at Weymouth.
